Minehead, Somerset

The Minehead May Day Festival of Football is one of the biggest youth football tournaments in the UK.  200 boys and girls football teams and 6000 people from all over England, Wales and further afield participate in the Festival every year.

Tournament Information

Staged over the popular May Day Bank Holiday weekend, the Minehead Festival of Football is open to
U7 – U14 boys teams and U10 – U16 girls teams of all abilities.  All tournament matches are played in Minehead and the picturesque villages surrounding the town.

Butlins Minehead

Butlins Minehead is something of a jewel in the crown for ESFF.  Located right on the beach, yet on the doorstep of the great wilderness of Exmoor National Park, it really is a magnificent setting for a family football festival.

The onsite facilities at Butlins are fantastic.  There’s a huge variety of sports and leisure facilities, the funfair with exciting rides, superb evening entertainment venues and great places to eat and drink.  The sub tropical Splash Waterworld has flumes, slides and wave machines.  Then there’s the new Aerial Rope Course (the biggest in Europe!!) with the stomach churning ‘leap of faith’ and climbing wall, the astroturf Multi-Sports Court with football and basketball courts, the funfair with free rides, the go-kart track, the crazy golf, the on site cinema, the ten pin bowling alley... we could go on!

The evening entertainment is another key factor which sets Butlins apart from all other holiday centres. There’s a huge range of entertainment on offer at the two main venues, Centre Stage and Reds, along with a more relaxed feel in some of the smaller venues.  You can relax with a drink or let your hair down whilst enjoying a superb family entertainment programme including live shows, bands, comedy and discos.

Teams at our recent Minehead Festivals have also had the opportunity to meet Bryan Robson, Ray Wilkins, Alan Curbishley and Sir Geoff Hurst at our celebrity presentations.

Take a look at the videos on the right of this page to see the fantastic facilities, entertainment and accommodation available at Butlins Minehead for yourself.
