From the very beginning, the ESF Festival of Football was born from a love of football shared by four brothers aged between 5 & 11. Having spent many years taking their children to and from training and matches, their parents, Alan and Lucille Young, felt it could be turned into an exciting weekend away.
In 1988 they organised a tour for their local football club to Bognor Regis, and following the success of this tour over 120 youth teams from around the UK arrived to take part in the first Festival of Football in 1989.
